Materials

Before You Start

Always work in a well-ventilated area and wear gloves and a mask while spray painting, especially if you’re spraying in a confined space like a garage.

Step 1: Use a Drop Cloth

Spread out a drop cloth to protect your workspace. We recommend working on a table for this project.

Step 2: Spray on Primer

Even though priming is optional for this project, we recommend adding a base of primer for maximum adhesion and coverage, especially since your table will be outdoors.

To prime your table, first shake your can of Ultra Cover 2x Primer for one minute after the mixing ball starts to rattle. Then, hold the can 10-16 in. away from the table, and spray in a steady back-and-forth motion.

Apply two or more light coats of primer to the top and sides of the table, allowing a few minutes in between each coat.

Step 3: Apply Painter’s Touch Ultra Cover Semi Gloss White

Shake your can of Ultra Cover 2x spray paint in Semi Gloss White for one minute after the mixing ball starts to rattle. Hold the can 10-16 in. from the top third of the table and spray in a sweeping motion, slightly overlapping each stroke.

Apply two to three light coats to the top third of the table (including the tabletop) a few minutes apart.

Step 4: Apply Painter’s Touch Ultra Cover Satin Aqua

Using the same technique, apply two or more light coats of Ultra Cover 2x spray paint in Satin Aqua to the bottom two thirds of the table.

Once the bottom two thirds of the table is completely painted, blend the Semi Gloss White and Satin Aqua paint by lightly spraying the area where the colors touch. Be careful not to over spray, or the paint might start to drip.

Step 5 – Blend Painter’s Touch Ultra Cover Satin Aqua and Semi Gloss White

Once the bottom two thirds of the table is completely painted, blend the Semi Gloss White and Satin Aqua paint by lightly spraying the area where the colors touch. Be careful not to over spray, or the paint might start to drip.
