We’ve had the pleasure of inviting six Dallas bloggers to post here on The Apron Blog in our Style Challenge series. We challenged them to create beautiful outdoor living spaces, large or small, covered or in a backyard corner, starting with a patio set from The Home Depot. It’s inspiration you can use to create the backyard of your dreams!
Now we’d like to hear from you. Tell us which was your favorite outdoor living space. The designers all had their own vision, with some showcasing playful colors, others creating studies in texture, and others a test of space. Maybe you liked them all. Or maybe a particular one of these beautiful spaces inspired you to create your own outdoor oasis. We’ve put together this review of the series, so you can browse through each of the Style Challenge articles, and revisit all of the beautiful, stylish spaces at once!
Table Setting Ideas with Katie of Modern Eve
We first visited Katie Anderson of the lifestyle blog Modern Eve. She showed us how to style an outdoor dining area for a relaxed brunch. With colorful linens, gorgeous flowers, and tons of texture, follow Katie’s tips for styling your next get-together!
Kelly of the blog Fabulous K used colorful pillows, flowers, and a succulent terrarium to turn her outdoor patio into a comfy spot for lounging. See how she was inspired to create such a playful space and what she used to get the look.
In this small, rented outdoor space, Sara of the The By & By used lots of potted succulents and greenery and some perfectly placed accessories to make a small, awkward space functional and beautiful!
Hilary Walker of the style blog Hilary Inspired turned her small front porch into the perfect perch for a glass of lemonade and an evening chat. By using multipurpose furniture pieces and some clever DIY accents, she created a stylish outdoor living room.
In order to make this outdoor space blend with the adjacent living room, Joslyn from the blog Simple Lovely blended outdoor curtains, outdoor rugs, tons of throw pillows, and a few unexpected accessories (like a chalkboard!) to give this outdoor room the feel of an indoor space.
The stylish and super-talented Samantha Reitmayer Sano of the blog style/SWOON created this outdoor room, a study in texture. With lots of pillows in various materials, a patterned rug, large and comfortable outdoor sectionals, and various other unique pieces, her outdoor space feels like a chic interior space.
We love them all. Which one(s) do you like best? Leave us a comment, and tell us what you liked about them.
