1. Mix flameless candles with real flame votives
In the photo above, Katie of the blog Modern Eve blended Home Accents Flameless Pillar Candles (which come with a timer) with real votive candles to create maximum impact in her delightful holiday dining room. By blending real and flameless candles, you can create a dramatic candlelit table setting, plus by incorporating real votive candles into your table setting, your guests won’t even suspect the flameless LED candles aren’t real, too!
In addition to tons of soft candlelight, Katie used pinecones to add a casual, wintery feel to her table. Not only will the candles create a flattering glow for everyone seated for a holiday feast, but you won’t have any trouble seeing the person sitting across from you.
2. Give your holiday table a look and feel by adding adornment to your LED candles
In her dining room, Erin of House of Earnest wrapped her candles in a bit of birch bark tied with some twine. By adding some textural pieces of bark, she reinforces the natural feel she created for this space.
You can see here that the tree bark accents on the candles feel natural next to the small tree in the centerpiece and the pinecones placed throughout the table. By adding in all of these nature-inspired elements, she creates a distinct Christmas atmosphere.
You could easily create the same effect by tying ribbons that complement your dining room décor to tie everything together. Or perhaps wrap swatches of burlap for a more rustic approach.
3. Give your flameless LED candles a snowy effect with an easy DIY project
Kristin of the blog The Hunted Interior designed a festive blue and white dining room table setting using a collection of turquoise and navy accents. She painted a bit of white school glue onto her candles, then rolled them in epsom salt to give them an icy look. She then placed them in dishes filled with epsom salt — like they’re in a pile of snow!
