An infographic about gift giving and recommending a Ryobi cordless power tool kit as a gift idea

Never underestimate the importance of collecting good gift ideas. As the graphic shows, gift giving, while joyful and fun, can get tricky at times. And even realizing that it’s the thought that counts, lots of people will quietly admit that they’ve received some real clunker gifts over the years. What’s worse, it can actually lead to a little holiday discord between couples.

You don’t want that.

When you’re coming up with gift ideas for men, one thing we know is that, unless you have a specific request from the recipient, you ought to stay away from clothing. Shirts, ties and jackets just don’t seem to go over well. And, please, NEVER UNDERWEAR.

You might have to dig a little deeper than that for your gifts for men.

The Home Depot has done a lot of the footwork for you, though. If you’re buying a gift for the DIYer in your life, you can’t go wrong with a set of cordless power tools. The Ryobi 18 Volt One+ Lithium Ion 4 Piece Combo Kit would be a particularly good gift. You get a cordless power drill, circular saw, reciprocating saw and a battery-powered work light with a swivel head. The tools all work on the same lithium-ion battery, and they come in a handy carrying case. The kit comes in Ryobi’s flashy lime green color, too.

These are the basics of any good power tool array, and the fact that they’re lightweight and cordless makes them super convenient. Like we said, the kit is perfect for anyone interested in home improvement, including new home owners or longtime weekend do-it-yourselfers.

(And while this Ryobi power tool kit would make a smashing gift for a man … the fact is, a lot of women like to do home improvement and DIY projects, too. Put this on your gift ideas for women list, as well.)

If you need something a little smaller, you could consider just buying one of the components of the tool array, like the Ryobi 18-volt One+ Lithium Ion Drill Kit, or a good basic tool, like this Husky 51-Piece Ratcheting Screwdriver Kit. If the person you’re buying for already has the tools they want, you could also consider giving them a place to keep their tools, like this Husky 3-Drawer Portable Tool Chest with Tray. If you can’t decide, you can also consider picking up a Gift Card. The truth is, there’s always a great selection at Home Depot.
